Risk of pilot strike at SAS on Thursday

Two days have been set aside for arbitration by the national mediator between SAS and the pilots of the company. Unless they reach an agreement, we may see a strike from Thursday onward.

– A  strike would cause virtually all of SAS ‘s  pilots to be taken out of service from Thursday, says Director Knut Morten Johansen of SAS to Dagens Næringsliv.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the Norwegian pilots in the Norwegian Cockpit Association and SAS Norway Pilot Association (SNF)will meet with the State mediator in Oslo.
The deadline for a mediation agreement is midnight on Thursday. If the parties do not reach an agreement before the deadline, it could lead to strike on Thursday morning.
A strike will cause 430 pilots to stay put on Thursday. The Long-distance flights will however go ahead as normal should there be a strike, according to DN.
