In January, a Romanian was stopped with 75,000 Rivotril tablets in Trysil after crossing the border from Sweden. He has now been sentenced to four years in prison.

According to the verdict, the man in his 50s used a car that was specially built for smuggling. He was also involved in the packing of the tablets.

The court concluded that the import alone corresponded to imprisonment for no less than four years and six months. The man’s confession resulted in a six-month penalty rebate.

The pill amount corresponds to 100,000 doses of the drug. The tablets have a street value of between 750,000 and 1.5 million kroner.

The car was also confiscated, and the man lost his driving license in Norway forever.
