From September 12, girlfriends, boyfriends, and various family members from outside the EU/EEA will be able to travel to Norway.

This applies to people from countries outside the EU/EEA who are adult children, their parents, grandparents, grandchildren, and the great-grand-variations of the above (e.g., great-grandparents).

In addition, girlfriends and boyfriends over the age of 18 and their minor children from outside the EU/EEA will also be able to travel to Norway, according to the government.

Girlfriends and boyfriends must apply for visits at the UDI. In addition, quarantine hotel rules apply.

“Now the time has come to ensure safe entry for more romantic companions, children, parents, and grandparents. As long as the usual strict rules for testing and quarantine are followed, we can now open up even more,” Minister of Justice and Emergency Management Monica Mæland (H) stated.
