On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that it was using hypersonic missiles in western Ukraine.
According to the Russians, the purpose is to destroy a large Ukrainian weapons depot located near the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, with missiles and anti-aircraft artillery, the news agency Interfax writes, according to Reuters.
The definition of a hypersonic weapon is that it moves five times faster than sound.
Russia’s Defense Ministry also reports that a military radio and reconnaissance center near the city of Odesa has been destroyed.
