Russia has handed over its reply to the United States and NATO’s proposals related to the Ukraine crisis and the security situation in Europe. It wants security guarantees and insists that US forces leave Eastern and Central Europe.

Russia also demands that the United States withdraw its troops from the Baltics.

If the United States can not provide the necessary guarantees, the Russians say they will be “forced to respond.”

“If there is no will to negotiate and come up with legally binding guarantees from the United States and its allies regarding our security, Russia will be forced to respond, also with military-technical measures,” the Russian Foreign Ministry wrote in its reply.

Russia: No plans to attack Ukraine

Russia also reiterated that it has no plans to attack Ukraine.

“There is no ‘Russian invasion’ of Ukraine, as the United States and its allies have officially been saying since last autumn, and there are no plans for that,” a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.

The US ambassador to Moscow, John Sullivan, received the letter from the Kremlin on Thursday afternoon, a US official revealed.

“We can confirm that we have received an answer,” the official, who did not want to be named, told the news agency AP.
