Moscow promises that it will respond to the sanctions from the EU and the US in kind, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted on Thursday.

“In accordance with the principle of reciprocity, which is fundamental to international law, we will implement tough retaliation measures,” a statement from a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, noted.

She also called the current and announced sanctions from the EU and the US, which come in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, “unfriendly.”
