Russian gas deliveries through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline have been completely stopped on Wednesday. According to the plan, the pipeline will be closed for three days.

According to the state-owned Russian energy company Gazprom, the pipeline is being closed for maintenance work.

The closure was announced in advance, and on Wednesday morning, the German operator Entsog confirmed that deliveries had stopped.

Gazprom said earlier in August that it is necessary to carry out maintenance after every 1,000 hours of operation.

When the maintenance is finished, deliveries of 33 million cubic meters of gas per day will resume, according to the company.

Since Western countries imposed sanctions on Russia following the invasion of Ukraine in February, Russian gas supplies to Europe have been gradually reduced.
