A man died after a Russian embassy car crashed into a fence at Skillebekk in Oslo. Another man was injured.
The police reported the accident in Drammensveien at Skillebekk at 00.10 on Thursday. The car crashed into a fence at the tram situated at the scene. Both men were in the embassy car.
Operations manager, Rune Hekkelstrand of Oslo police district told NTB news that the police are working on gaining identification of the deceased man. They told VG newspaper that the car involved belongs to the Russian embassy, and both the embassy and theMinistry of Foreign Affairs are notified.
‘’We have also talked to several witnesses about what may have happened, but we do not want to publicise details about it’’ he said.
The police initially stated that the two were seriously injured, but then said that one of them had lost their life, while the other escaped with minor injuries.
‘’One person who was in the car when it crashed was confirmed dead by healthcare professionals on site. The other involved was driven to the emergency room with minor injuries” reported the police then at 00.37.
The police have opened the way for traffic after completing on-site investigations.
