Italian authorities have seized the superyacht owned by Russian oligarch Andrei Melnichenko in the port city of Trieste, CNN reports.

The vessel was seized on Friday.

The boat is called Sailing Yacht A and has a value of around EUR 530 million, about NOK 5.2 billion. It is among the largest in the world, according to the manufacturer Nobiskrug.

Melnichenko was sanctioned by the EU on March 9 as part of the Union’s expanded sanctions against Russian oligarchs.

According to the EU, he owns the fertilizer producer EuroChem Group and the coal company SUEK.
