Three girls aged 13–16 were injured after driving off the road in Andebu in Sandefjord Municipality. A 13-year-old drove the car that she stole from home.

The Southeastern Police District reported the accident, which happened on Vestre Andebuvei, at 10:30 PM on Saturday.

There were three girls aged 13, 14, and 16 in the car. Two of them were taken to Vestfold Hospital in Tønsberg for treatment, and one was taken to the emergency room.

One of the girls was first described as critically injured and was supposed to be transported by air ambulance to Ullevål hospital in Oslo.

“She was taken to the hospital in Vestfold instead,” operations manager Jan Kristian Johnsrud told news bureau NTB. That may indicate that the injuries are not as severe as first thought.

According to the police, the 13-year-old girl was driving the car. The police told the newspaper Sandefjords Blad that the driver stole the car from home.
