A man has been taken to the hospital in Sweden after being attacked at a school in Eslöv. A student has been arrested after an operation in which the police fired shots.

“The victim is a 45-year-old employee at the school. He has been taken to the hospital and is now undergoing surgery, but we do not have further information about the extent of the injuries,” police press contact Eva-Gun Westford stated.

Police say the perpetrator was arrested outside the school. The apprehended person is a 15-year-old student. Westford says the situation was confusing. Police are said to have fired shots.

“Large police forces were in place after a short time,” she said.

School cordoned off

The school building that was the scene of the incident has been cordoned off. No students are injured, Eslöv Municipality wrote on its website, where a message about the attack was posted at 8:41 AM.

Police and rescue services were quickly on the scene.

“The school was closed immediately. All students are gathered in the sports hall and are taken care of by professional personnel,” Skåne Municipality stated.
