Serious traffic accident in Agder, car and truck catch fire

A truck and a car caught fire after an accident on the E39 in Kvinesdal late Saturday night.

The accident happened west of the Fosseland tunnel. The police were notified of the accident at 11:53 PM. It burned heavily in both the car and the truck, as well as in the woods next to the road.

At 5:30 AM on Sunday, the police were still working on the spot. The police have control of the driver of the truck but do not know how many were in the car.

“The road will be closed for a longer period, forensic scientists and the accident team have been notified. So the road will be closed for a long time. Work is being done on detours,” operations manager Lars Hyberg in the Agder police stated.

Vegtrafikksentralen sør suggested the following detours: Fv466 from Flikka to Sandvatn, Fv42 from Sandvatn to Kvinlog, Fv465 from Kvinlog to Feda via Kvinesdal.
