Nine out of ten Norwegians agree in whole or in part to the claim that vaccines are safe, but only seven out of ten are positive about getting vaccinated against Covid-19.

A survey Kantar has conducted for the Research Council of Norway, shows. “The figures are not unexpected,” says Research Council Director Jon Arne Røttingen.

“The fact that the population says to a lesser extent that they want to be vaccinated versus the general assessment of vaccines are safe, I think is really a fairly rational assessment from the Norwegian population,” Røttingen told NRK.

It is uncertain when a vaccine against the Coronavirus will be in place. So far, there have been 237 Coronavirus related deaths in Norway.

– “So far, we have not established knowledge of how good any Covid-19 vaccines will be. Then we hope that when we get that knowledge – maybe in a year’s time – then more informed choices will be made, and then I hope that percentage will increase substantially,” the director of the Research Council of Norway continues.
