Seven years in prison for online abuse against young girls

A court in the Swedish city of Boras has sentenced a 47-year-old man to seven years in prison for sexual abuse of 100 girls.

The man has been operating by impersonation and pretended to be act as a young boy or girl so as to lure girls to show up naked and perform sexual acts in front of webcams.

He has acknowledged to some of the violations but not to all.

The man’s lawyer Mats Svanberg believes there is no sufficient evidence that it was only his client who had contact with the girls.

Prosecutors had alleged eight years in prison against the defendants, who comes from the village of Ulricehamn east of Borås.

The trial has been one of the most comprehensive in Borås District Court ever.
