So far, four people with the Corona virus infection have been admitted to various hospitals around the country.

On Monday, three infected persons were admitted to St. Olav’s hospital in Trondheim, Oslo University Hospital and Bærum hospital. Previously, a person was admitted to Drammen hospital.

An elderly person has been admitted to St. Olav’s hospital after testing positive for the virus on Saturday. He had been traveling in Northern Italy and was in quarantine since his return.

– His condition is stable, says Director Tom Christian Martinsen.

He would not answer whether the person has an underlying illness.

Aggravated respiratory problems
Another infected person was also admitted to Oslo University Hospital.

– For privacy reasons, the hospital will not provide any additional information about the patient or any health condition, the hospital administration said.

At Bærum Hospital, a Corona-infected person who had been in home quarantine for a week, was admitted because the person’s respiratory complaints had worsened over recent days.

The patient was probably infected on a return trip to a risk area a week ago, Vestre Viken Health authority wrote in a press release on Monday.

First admission Sunday
On Sunday, a person was admitted to the hospital in Drammen. This was the first hospitalisation with a Covit-19 infection in Norway.

This person had also been in Northern Italy and was diagnosed with the infection last week. He has been home quarantined since his return.

– The patient has a complex medical history that made hospitalisation necessary, the health authorities said.
