Several mountain passes in Southern Norway are still closed

There are still several closed mountain passes in Southern Norway. Some sections are opened for convoy driving, and national road 7 over the Hardangervidda is open.

People were encouraged by Vegtrafikksentralen to postpone the journey home from the Easter holidays to Tuesday due to bad weather. On Wednesday, the meteorologists still warn of strong winds and snowstorms on the mountains in Southern Norway. 

On Wednesday morning, Vegtrafikksentralen announced on Twitter that several mountain passes in Southern Norway are still closed.

Highway 7 over the Hardangervidda was opened to normal traffic on Wednesday morning. E16 over Filefjell, E134 Haukeli, and Hemsedalsfjellet (national road 52) were opened on Tuesday.

There is convoy driving on county road 50 Aurland-Hol and national road 13 Vikafjellet. County road 53 Tyin-Årdal and national road 15 Strynefjellet is still closed.

In Central Norway, county road 27 Venabygdsfjellet is closed, and so is county road 51 Valdresflya. In the north, there is convoy driving on county road 98 over Ifjordfjellet due to bad weather.
