Doctors in Norway are experiencing an increase in the number of inquiries related to face masks. Many people have problems with their eyes after using a face mask.
The use of face masks during the prolonged coronavirus pandemic has led to several health problems.
It is already well known that face masks can lead to small bumps and pimples in the area around the mouth, but according to TV 2, doctors now also experience that more people are getting eye problems after wearing face masks.
Increase in inquiries
“We notice an increase in the number of inquiries related to eye problems since face mask use became mandatory this autumn,” Katharina Pracon, a general practitioner at Volvat, noted.
According to ophthalmologist Sten Ræder at the Eye Health Clinic and the Dry Eye Clinic, poor indoor climate and prolonged viewing of TV and computer screens can lead to eye problems for many people, which can be exacerbated due to the use of a face mask.
Using artificial tear fluid to moisturize the eyes and keeping good hand hygiene routines can help news bureau NTB notes.
