Oslo Shooting Center must appear in court because it does not want to pay the fine it has received for improper storage of weapons after several weapons disappeared from the center.
The police believe they have discovered four cases of weapons disappearing from the Oslo Shooting Center, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) writes.
Therefore, the shooting center was fined NOK 500,000 for improper storage of weapons, which it refuses to pay.
The shooting center disagrees with the police’s presentation of events. Among other things, it believes there are only two cases: one case of theft from the gun shop and one from the center’s shooting range.
Court case
As the center does not want to pay the fine, it had to appear in Oslo District Court on Thursday.
“Oslo Shooting Center believes it has not done anything criminal and looks forward to presenting its version of events to the district court,” the center’s lawyer, Pål S. Jensen, told the channel.
The center lost its license to sell weapons earlier this year and has closed its operations. The license case is not part of the trial that began in Oslo District Court on Thursday.
