Guilty of sexual intercourse with his niece
A man from East Agder is sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for having had sexual intercourse with his niece when she was under the age of 15.
The incident took place in 2009 when the woman was visiting her uncle. The perpetrator was 30 years old at that time, writes Fædrelandsvennen.
The man had sexual intercourse without contraception with the youngster, according to the verdict. The victim explains that she called a girlfriend to obtain a «morning after pill» the next day. She, however, did not inform about the sexual abuse before later, which led to a police report.

Denies culpability
The uncle admits that the niece visited him that weekend, but refutes having had sexual intercourse with her. The court, however, relies on the woman’s explanation, which appears to be both detailed and consistent. Her explanation is, furthermore, substantiated by evidence.
The man is not admitting culpability. 60 days of his sentence has been made conditional. He must also pay NOK 75,000 in redress to his niece.
