Seven people have applied for compensation after receiving the corona vaccine in Norway. All of the cases concern side effects after receiving the vaccine.

Six women and one man in the age group 40-89 years have applied for compensation, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reports, which first mentioned the case.

These are the first claims for compensation for injuries due to the corona vaccine that have been submitted to the Norwegian System of Compensation to Patients (Norsk pasientskadeerstatning).

“So far, six women and a man have applied for compensation after taking the corona vaccine. They are between 40 and 89 years old.

Seven cases

“In three of the cases, a person died, and the surviving relatives are applying for compensation,” director Rolf Gunnar Jørstad at the Norwegian System of Compensation to Patients noted in a press release.

One of the claimants received the AstraZeneca vaccine, and another received the Pfizer vaccine. In the other five cases, it has not yet been clarified which vaccine was used.

“The applicants describe side effects such as dizziness, headaches, pain, blood clots, and mental strain after taking the corona vaccine,” Jørstad said.

In addition to those seeking compensation for injuries due to vaccines, 83 relatives of patients who died in relation to coronavirus in nursing homes and hospitals have received compensation.
