Significant avalanche danger reported in several places in Norway

On Monday, there is a significant risk of landslides in several places in Norway. The NVE recently issued a new danger warning for Hallingdal.

“Avoid traffic in avalanche terrain! Avalanches of considerable size can be triggered remotely,” the NVE’s warning for Hallingdal stated on Monday morning.

A danger warning has already been issued (note: highest level) for Nord-Trøndelag and Sør-Trøndelag. 

In addition, there is a significant risk of avalanches along the Finnmark coast, in West Finnmark, North Troms, Lyngen, Tromsø, South Troms, Inner Troms, Salten, Svartisen, Helgeland, Trollheimen, Romsdal, Sunnmøre, Indre Fjordane, Jotunheimen, Indre Sogn, Voss, and Hardanger.

In most of these areas, the risk of avalanches will persist until Tuesday.
