Siv Jensen: Mandatory corona testing for travelers to Norway should have been introduced long ago

“This U-turn operation comes unnecessarily late,” Progress Party (FRP) leader Siv Jensen said after the government introduced mandatory corona testing for everyone traveling to Norway.

“This could have been done a long time ago. In the late summer, the FRP, with the support of business organizations, proposed the introduction of mandatory testing for everyone traveling to Norway. The government rejected the proposal at the time,” Jensen told news bureau NTB.

From January 2, everyone coming to Norway from abroad will have to take a COVID-19 test.

“Imported infection in Norway has been large since late summer. It has hit individuals and the business community very hard.

“We now risk several weeks of strict measures aimed at most people and the business community, so this U-turn operation comes unnecessarily late,” the FRP leader warned.
