Six people were killed in the Alta helicopter crash

Six people died in the helicopter crash in Alta on Saturday. According to the Finnmark police district, Sunday morning. Five of those killed were people in their early 20s and from Alta.

The passenger who was sent to the University Hospital in Northern Norway in Tromsø died as a result of their injuries. At 20:40 Saturday night, the last person missing was found dead in the helicopter. That means that all six who were on board lost their lives in the accident, police say in a press release.

In addition to the five people from Alta, the pilot, who was a Swedish citizen, has lost his life.

The helicopter burned sharply after the accident, and police report that it may therefore take some time to retrieve and identify the dead.

Police have asked the Kripos ID group for assistance.

Investigation begins
Investigators from the police and Accident Investigation Board will begin their investigations Sunday morning to find the cause of the tragic accident.
