Six out of ten Oslo youngsters think the West are at war with Islam

In a recent survey among 8,500 teenagers from Oslo, 58 percent fully or partly agreed that the West and Islam are at war.

In the survey carried out by Norwegian Social Research (NOVA), responding also a significant proportion of young people that they are somewhat or completely convinced that the West and Islam is threatening each other’s cultures and values, writes the newspaper Aftenposten.

They asked the young people at the age between 16 to 19 years. 24 percent answered “strongly agree” to the question whether there is a war between Islam and the West, while 34 percent say they “somewhat agree”. 20 percent said “do not know” something NOVA researcher Viggo Vestel interpret that question can be difficult to decide.

– Barack Obama claims it is not a war between the West and Islam, the same does Erna Solberg. Meanwhile, the word war is used very often. I think a lot of this goes on feeling how the world has become. Then it is easy to lose precision, says Vestel.

In the same survey answers, 59.2 percent that they “not at all” supports the decision to youth who have benefited from Norway to fight with weapons in the war in Syria. 3 percent support in elections in a very large degree, 3.4 percent largely, 10.1 percent to some extent and 14.4 percent in a small degree. 9.9 percent answered, “do not know”.

    Actually it is Islam that is at war with the West who in general have not been smart enough to work that out yet.
