Snowy weather in Eastern Norway: Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully

Snow is falling in Eastern Norway. Vegtrafikksentralen Øst encourages people all over Eastern Norway to drive carefully.

“It is still snowing, all of the emergency services are out and working, but today it is snowing again,” traffic operator Mette Brunæs in Vegtrafikksentralen Øst told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) on Tuesday morning.

The police in the East report a trailer struggled to get up Fredrikstadbrua in Fredrikstad earlier in the morning, and in Sandefjord, a person drove into the ditch.

Brunæs warns that there may be snow-covered roads in some places and encourages passengers in Eastern Norway to make sure they expect challenging weather conditions if they are going to drive.

“Today, it makes sense to take a little extra time, adjust the speed to the weather and road conditions, and keep a distance to the car in front,” Brunæs added.

Brunæs noted that no major incidents or road closures had been reported.
