Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Høyre (H) met Vietnam’s Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, on Friday (who is visiting Norway).

The Vietnamese Prime Minister is visiting Norway with a large business delegation from Vietnam. On Friday morning, Nguyen also met Minister of Business and Industry, Torbjørn Røe Isaksen (H).

‘’Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and there are great opportunities for Norwegian business interests in green and renewable energy, aquaculture, and maritime industries. The visit is therefore a good opportunity to highlight what Norwegian business and industry can offer to both Vietnamese authorities and business representatives. I also hope that the visit can lead to progress in the free trade agreement negotiations between EFTA and Vietnam” said Røe Isaksen.

Norwegian trade with Vietnam amounted to NOK 6.5 billion last year.

Around 40 Norwegian companies, mainly in the marine, maritime and ICT sectors, have been present there in recent years.
