Prime Minister Erna Solberg says Norway has entered into an “ambitious and comprehensive” free trade agreement with the United Kingdom.

“Although it is not as good as the EEA agreement, this is the most comprehensive free trade agreement ever,” Solberg said when she presented the agreement on Friday.

“The agreement means that Norwegian export companies have access to our largest market outside the EU. It secures jobs and value creation,” the Prime Minister said.

Solberg says Norway’s exports to the UK are worth close to NOK 200 billion a year.

“This, therefore, means a lot when it comes to the jobs of many people,” she said.
