Solberg: Vaccinated and immune Norwegians will be able to get a corona certificate

Norwegians who have been vaccinated or have immunity after the illness can get a corona certificate, Prime Minister Erna Solberg said on Wednesday.

“We are now working on creating a corona certificate to be able to document those who have been vaccinated, taken a corona test, or have natural immunity after undergoing COVID-19,” Solberg said.

She points out that the Norwegian solution will be in line with the EU’s digital Green Certificate.

“The government is investigating whether a simplified version of a corona certificate can also be used nationally to be able to open up more and faster, through the digital documentation of tests and the vaccination status,” the Prime Minister added.

She also noted that the government is considering new advice for all Norwegians who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

New advice

“The Norwegian Institute of Public Health and the Norwegian Directorate of Health are in the process of assessing the knowledge base and will update their advice as soon as it is justifiable.

“For example, it may be relevant to open up for exemption from home office and that more people can visit a household.

“We must also look at the rules for infection quarantine, entry quarantine, and waiting quarantine for those who have been vaccinated. We will therefore return to this (at a later point in time),” she said.
