Prime Minister Erna Solberg will not warn Americans against electing  Donald Trump for president.

– Many of the statements that Trump has made have been very worrisome, such as on NATO and nuclear weapons. I do not think this is solutions for America’s challenges. However, a Norwegian prime minister should not warn against or support candidates in other countries, said Solberg in a duel with Labour leader Jonas Gahr Store at the start of the debate in Arendal Thursday night.

The Labour Minister was in turn quite firm. He thinks Trump is dangerous:
– What we hear from Trump’s dangerous. It is dangerous if we get a USA that says NATO solidarity does not apply, that international law, climate agreements and trade agreements do not apply. The United States has an open democracy so we can express what we think about this. I think he’s dangerous, said Støre.

Solberg believes that it is hard to say whether Trump believes everything he says, or whether some of his statements are put forward because he runs a cynical game.
