Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) hopes that King Harald will soon recover from the operation he will undergo on Friday.
“I wish the king good luck with the operation and hope he recovers quickly,” Solberg said in a comment to news bureau NTB.
On Thursday, the Royal House announced that King Harald would undergo heart valve surgery.
The 2005 heart surgery
King Harald also underwent an operation on the heart valve between the heart and the main artery in 2005.
He had an artificial heart valve inserted at the time.
Such heart valves usually have a duration of 10 to 15 years, so it’s not uncommon for such interventions to be repeated after some time, the Royal House explained.
