Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre says the country has started investigations in the Koran schools.

NRK has revealed that Norwegian Somali children are sent to Koran schools in Somalia, where there has been reported abuse and severe decipline. Somalia’s prime minister, who is also a Norwegian citizen, says he has discussed the matter with Norwegian authorities.

“We have started investigations based on the concerns the Norwegian authorities have raised,” said Khayre, who attended a press conference at the Oslo Forum Peace Forum on Losby estate Tuesday.

“We will take all necessary measures to ensure that children’s rights are safeguarded in Norway and Somalia. I will discuss the details with Norwegian authorities, he said.
