Four young men must appear in Sør-Rogaland District Court this Autumn, accused of having kidnapped an acquaintance of the same age in 2020.

According to the indictment, the four young people are said to have picked up a peer outside a shopping center in the district. He was kept in the back seat against his will and had been threatened with having his fingers cut off. He was also threatened that he would be waterboarded if he contacted the police, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) writes.

According to the indictment, the defendants wanted to enter the apartment of a relative of the victim. When they arrived at this apartment, the relative was also allegedly threatened with a knife and then robbed.

The four are charged with deprivation of liberty, coercion, and robbery. One of the four is also charged with making threats.

The defender of one of the accused, Harald Søndenå Jacobsen, says that his client regrets what he has done. The incident took place in September 2020, but no charges were filed until October 2021, and the case will not come up in court until the end of August 2022.
