A person was sent to Hamar hospital on Saturday afternoon after being shot in the foot in a hunting accident.

The incident happened in Søre Osen, the newspaper Østlendingen writes.

“The person was hit in the lower part of the leg,” operations manager Arne Norevik at the Innlandet police told the newspaper. Police have begun investigating the case.

“The person was shot from a hunting rifle in an accident,” Norevik added.

There were allegedly four people present at the time of the incident, and all have been questioned by the police, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) writes.

“We do not yet have a clear picture of what has happened… We will try to find out exactly what has happened,” Norevik said.
