Søreide: Many countries around the world asked if they could assist Norway after the Gjerdrum landslide

The landslide in Gjerdrum attracted a lot of international attention. Norway’s Foreign Minister has been contacted by colleagues around the world, who have asked if they could assist the country.

“There are inquiries from European countries and others… I have received a lot of messages from my European colleagues, and I received a message from my Canadian colleague yesterday,” Foreign Minister Ine Søreide Eriksen (H) told TV 2.

In the first hours after the landslide accident, she already received the first support messages.

A Swedish crisis team is already assisting the ongoing rescue work. 

No survivors were found in the landslide area in Gjerdrum during the night.

After a ground search of the landslide area in Gjerdrum, a dead person has been found on Friday afternoon, the police informed.
