Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (H) will travel to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Palestine and Cyprus for political talks from the 18 to 21 February.

Søreide is traveling to the Middle East as part of preparations for the next meeting of the donor country group for Palestine (AHLC) in Brussels on April 1. The theme of the meetings is the political situation in the region.

Norway has a long standing commitment to contribute to a negotiated two-state solution between Israel and Palestine, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Minister says she will work to reduce tensions in the area and help resolve the conflict politically. She will also address human rights issues and discuss the conflicts in Yemen and Syria.
