The Center Party’s (SP) deputy leader Anne Beathe Tvinnereim says that the party has never said it would categorically oppose government collaboration with the Socialist Left Party (SV).

According to the current forecasts, it is likely that the Center Party could get a majority in the Storting together with the Labor Party (AP) and the Socialist Left Party (SV).

Throughout the election campaign, the Center Party has insisted on forming a government with the Labor Party. At times, the SP appeared lukewarm to the notion of cooperating with the SV.

When asked by the newspaper Aftenposten whether it would now be relevant to cooperate with the SV, the SP’s second deputy leader Anne Beathe Tvinnereim answered:

“I have a plan A, and that is what we are talking about with the other parties.”

But you don’t rule it out?

“We have never closed any doors, but our plan A is an SP-AP-based government. We believe this would give the best policy for the whole country, but, of course, we will hold talks.”
