The Oslo police reported the incident just after half past two in the night between Saturday and Sunday.

The incident happened at Thorvald Meyers gate on the lower Grünerløkka. The injured person was conscious during transport to the hospital.

A bit later, the police reported that a man they believe is involved in the case had been arrested.

Charged with attempted murder

“An investigation will be carried out to determine the basis for the violence… It is early to say now, but based on the extent of the injuries and what we know about the incident, the man is charged with attempted murder,” Anders Johnsrud in the Oslo Police District told Avisa Oslo on Saturday morning.

According to the newspaper, the man in his 50s was not arrested at the place of the incident. The condition of the injured man is stable.

The two men knew each other from before, Johnsrud told the newspaper Aftenposten.

“There is a relationship between them. But they are not in a family,” Johnsrud stated.
