Eight employees and nine children at a kindergarten in Stavanger have tested positive for the British coronavirus mutation.

Stavanger Municipality confirmed the outbreak on Saturday night, newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad writes.

The first case of infection was detected at Bekketunet kindergarten on Thursday, March 4. Since then, another seven employees and nine children have been diagnosed with the disease.

“All children and employees are quarantined. Since it is the mutated virus, the households of those who have been quarantined are recommended to remain quarantined until the situation has been clarified,” the Municipality noted.

More information will be provided related to the outbreak later on Sunday.
