A total of 836 new corona infection cases have been registered in Oslo in the last 24 hours, the lowest number in eleven days. Oslo’s Health Councilor Robert Steen is “cautiously optimistic.”

“The massive effort we are making in Oslo to increase the capacity for vaccination and testing will give results, but I think it is too early to say that we already see its effect. I still choose to be a cautious optimist,” Steen told NTB.

The measures that have been introduced will work if we comply with them, he added.

“The efforts we all make now will, in the long run, reduce the infection,” Steen noted.

He further pointed out that it is important that more people get vaccinated and take the third dose in order not to increase the burden on an already pressured health care system.
