Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (AP) believes that Norway has handled the pandemic better than other countries and has good conditions for further handling the pandemic.

“Norway has handled the pandemic better than most other countries. Now we will be able to stay in control through the winter,” Støre said in his report on the corona situation to the Norwegian parliament (Storting).

Støre believes that Norway has the best conditions to be able to handle the pandemic through the winter with vaccination, that it has the financial muscle to keep hospitals and municipalities running, and that it has good professional environments.

“We are heading into a period where we can not expect the infection to go away – it must be controlled. The goal is that we can live with the infection without overburdening the health service or introducing measures that interfere with our lives too hard,” he noted.
