Author and critic of Islam, Hege Storhaug, wants national guidelines for attire worn during swimming lessons in school. She believes it is cowardly to lay the responsibility on municipalities.

‘We have cowardly politicians who will not take responsibility. They are shoving it either over to the individual school, or the individual municipality. Then it is left up to the individual principal to stand up and risk being harassed and called racist. I want national policies’, says Storhaug according to Nettavisen.

This summer Finnsnes school in Troms received great attention when they let the girls dress in full-body bathing suits to prevent ‘apostasy’ during teaching.

The ministry said at the time that it was up to each municipality and county to make an assessment of these matters.

‘Those who wear the nikab, those who are ideologically motivated, are asking for attention’, said the author, who last year released the book ‘Islam. Den 11. landeplage’ (Islam. The 11th Plague.)
