Hotels and restaurants strike affects traditional 17th May offers at several hotels and catering establishments, which have to keep completely or partially closed.
United Federation says it has no oversight over the extent to which the conflict affects weddings or 17th of May serving, newspaper Dagsavisen.
– It is enough to be a part miserable and unhappy guests, unless one has hired strike breakers, says Tore Skjelstad Aunet, manager for the hotel and restaurant in the Federation.
He did feel sorry for the guests who have pre-booked table and looked forward to the May 17th luncheon.
– This is no dream situation on a day like this. There is hardly any dream situation on the employer side either. Hotel Bristol normally have around a thousand guests on the national day and have had to call and cancel 400 preorders forstsetter he.
They are not alone in having to cancel the May 17th luncheon. The Director of Scandic Hotels Norway, Svein Arild Melvold, stressing that the strike turns out differently from hotel to hotel.
– In some hotels there will be a reduction in supply, in some it will be a normal supply, but other hotels will simply be closed. My advice is to get in touch to find out how the operation is on 17 May, he said.
