A positive coronavirus test of a student at Sørumsand school has been confirmed as a mutated British coronavirus case.

Municipal medical officer Hans-Christian Myklestul in Lillestrøm Municipality told newspaper Indre Akershus Blad that there is one mutated case that has been proven, and that two more students at the school have tested positive for coronavirus.

“So far, two more students have been infected, but we’re waiting to get results to see if it’s the mutated virus,” Lillestrøm Mayor Jørgen Vik (AP) told the newspaper.

He emphasized the importance of following quarantine and isolation rules.
