According to a summer survey from the Norwegian Corona Monitor, as many as nine out of ten Norwegians believe that tourism to Norway should be limited.

Out of the 1,490 Norwegians surveyed, 89% answered that tourism should be limited, according to the survey conducted by Opinion.

Only 5% responded “no” to limiting tourism, while 6% were not sure.

Women are more in favor of tourism restrictions than men, with 92% of women being against compared to 87% of men.

The proportion of those who are for restrictions is most significant among those under the age of 30, with 93%.

“Norwegians currently agree on limiting tourism to Norway. About nine out of ten agree regardless of age, gender, and geography,” senior adviser Nora Clausen at Opinion noted at the time.

Clausen added that the support for tourism restrictions comes from the fact that most Norwegians do not want to go through a new lockdown.
