A 51-year-old British citizen has been released after first being charged with a bomb threat against a Ryanair plane on Friday.

Police say the investigation initially showed that there was good reason to suspect the man of serious threats. Now the man has been released.

– “The police have now finished their forensic investigations, and the accused has been questioned. After this, there is no basis for further custody of the arrested man,” says on-duty police attorney Nicolas Amilien Simon in the Eastern police district in a press release

The British 51-year-old was arrested, suspected of being behind a bomb threat against a Ryanair plane on its way from London to Oslo on Friday. He was arrested when the plane landed and charged with aggravated threat.

“The reason for the suspicion is information from the crew and other passengers. The British did not understand the accusation,” says lawyer Henning Bjercke to NTB.
