The Socialist Left Party’s (SV) Kari Elisabeth Kaski feels confident that SV, SP, and Rødt will succeed in forcing the Labor Party to turn around in the matter of preserving Ullevål hospital.

She pointed out that the Oslo Labor Party, which disagrees with the national party in this matter, has said in the election campaign that they want to preserve Ullevål hospital.

“The Labor Party has no choice in this matter. I believed that all along. We have to preserve Ullevål hospital. The Oslo Labor Party said that they wanted to preserve Ullevål hospital in the election campaign… They have to deliver on that,” Kaski told the newspaper Avisa Oslo.

All parties in Oslo City Council except the Conservatives are against the decision to close Ullevål hospital. However, the leader of the Oslo Labor Party, Frode Jacobsen, does not want to give any guarantees.

“They know our position in many matters well and what is important to us, including our concern for the hospital capacity in Oslo. The Oslo Labor Party will accentuate issues that are important to us, I hope SV will support us, but I will not do it through the media,” Jacobsen said.
