According to SVT, the acute political crisis in Sweden has led the government to convene an extraordinary meeting on Sunday.

On Monday, a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Stefan Löfven’s government will take place in the Swedish parliament (Riksdag).

A majority in the Riksdag consisting of the Moderates and the Christian Democrats, as well as the Left Party and the Sweden Democrats, have announced that they will vote against the government.

If the government falls on Monday, Sweden will get a transitional government.

In Sunday’s government meeting, decisions will be made on several issues that a transitional government cannot make, according to the broadcaster.

“It will take a miracle for Stefan Löfven to make it through this,” SVT’s domestic political commentator Mats Knutson said.
