From Monday, Sweden will abolish the requirement for a COVID-19 test for people entering the country from another Nordic country, the Swedish government stated.

The rule change was announced on Friday afternoon.

The requirement for a negative test will continue to apply to travelers from other EU and EEA countries. The requirement continues to apply for the rest of the month.

The general entry ban for persons from third countries is extended until August 31. To be exempt, one must meet strict criteria in addition to submitting a negative corona test.

Swedish citizens and persons residing in Sweden, as well as transport workers and persons under 18, can already enter the country without restrictions.
