Sweden wants to help Ukraine rebuild the power grid that has been destroyed by the Russian attack on the country.

Sweden’s Energy Minister Khashayar Farmanbar says the Swedes will send electrical equipment to Ukraine.

“Svenska kraftnät has gone through its warehouses and found material that can be used to build and repair power networks, and that can be sent without affecting the Swedish power preparedness level,” Farmanbar said.

In total, around 350 pallets of equipment will be sent to Ukraine, director of Svenska kraftnät Lotta Medelius-Bredhe stated.

Svenska kraftnät is responsible for the Swedish power grid.

According to Farmanbar, close to two million people now live without electricity in Ukraine.
