The Swedish government plans to stop considering COVID-19 a socially dangerous disease from April. It wants to repeal the pandemic law in the country.
The government is now submitting both proposals to the Swedish parliament (Riksdag).
“Our assessment is that it is possible to repeal the Pandemic Act,” Sweden’s Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren said.
The Riksdag has previously requested that the Pandemic Act be repealed.
If COVID-19 loses the status of a socially dangerous disease, the requirement for infection detection will disappear, and the requirements for quarantine and isolation will be removed.
